ScottCom provides T1 sharing in corporate buildings for high-speed Internet access. Currently, DSL providers and cable companies provide Internet access. However, these services although satisfactory do not provide the bandwidth available via a T1 line. Companies have strayed away from the T1 technology for the lower cost cable and DSL products. Scottcom provides the higher performance T1 technology as an alternative to DSL and Cable providers. The difference is the speed. Typically, DSL companies are providing bandwidth’s of 384 Kbps and cable companies are providing the same speed or higher. However, the cost of the higher speeds prevents most companies from utilizing this. What does this service provide for the property management company? There is absolutely no cost to the property management company. Scottcom provides and maintains all the hardware. Additionally, the claim that a corporate building has high-speed Internet access will attract business that would otherwise look elsewhere. Installation times are minimal, usually within a couple of days vs. weeks with DSL or Cable providers. Full bandwidth of 1.54 megabits per second up and down is provided. This service when purchased from the local phone companies is typically $1200 - $1500.00 per month. Our service is provided to the client for $175.00 per month with a $150.00 setup fee. If a one-year contract is signed, the installation fee is waived. Bandwidth is monitored and additional T1’s are pulled in to support the traffic needs of the building. There is no limitation on the bandwidth the customer uses. The only requests are that companies do not use file-sharing services such as Morpheus, Napster, etc, as these service use bandwidth unnecessarily and most corporate clients don’t want their employees using company time for them anyway. After a decision is made that this technology is acceptable, the T1 lines will be installed in a central location of the building. This takes approximately three weeks to complete. Prior to the installation, a building survey will be completed and all clients will be informed of the service. Orders will be taken in advance of the Data Line installation and will be pre-wired. Once the lines are installed, any future requests by clients can be installed within 1 – 3 days. Internal wiring or cabling for voice and data can also be provided. Network Maintenance and hardware support for building clients is also provided if requested. Mixtures of wireless high speed Internet and wired Internet can be provided to the client within their suites. If a client has a current network installed, Scottcom can simply plug into the existing network for high speed Internet without interrupting current workflow. Building seminars are also provided periodically at no charge for education on how to leverage the Internet and use the Internet as a business tool. This is a powerful tool for the property management company as these services are expensive and inconvenient to attend. These seminars are at the location of the business.
